When the announcement came through that Jerry Seinfeld would be starring in some Microsoft ads to counter the popularity of the “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” Apple marketing ploy, we thought it was about time. The first ad came and faded not so quietly into the night, then the second ad arrived and improved on the efforts of the first Seinfeld attempt. But both of these advertisements had a problem; they didn’t seem to be explicitly promoting anything. Furthermore, everyone seemed to be anticipating ads that responded to the defamatory Apple ads. Well now that time has come for Microsoft to stop pretending like they can market around the existence of Apple and their infamous adverts, and meet the threat head on. They have finally released a video that has its intentions framed from the very outset. It’s a vast improvement over the meandering of the Seinfeld driven ads and you can check it out below.
