Tri-band HSDPA, built-in GPS capabilities and Media Sync that allows you to sync with your iTunes music library are all part of BlackBerry’s latest, the Bold.
Update: Microsoft and Reasearch in Motion (RIM) have announced today that Windows Live services will now be available on BlackBerrys. Windows Live enabled BlackBerrys are expected to be available in the middle of the year.
The styling of BlackBerry’s latest smartphone, the Bold, certainly is that. The iPhone shaped device features a full QWERTY keyboard and 480x320 resolution VGA display framed by silver. None of the phones features are groundbreaking, but the design looks sharp and keeps Blackberry up to speed with the competition.
You’ll get Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, a 624MHz processor and a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. The BlackBerry Bold also comes with 1GB on-board storage and a 128 MB flash card. There’s a microSD/SDHC memory card slot as well. With the Bold you’ll be able to talk on the phone while sending and receiving emails and have the ability to download and edit Word, Powerpoint and Excel documents. A handy feature for Apple users is BlackBerry Media Sync, which allows you to sync your iTunes music library with the Bold.
Through BlackBerry Enterprise Server, users also have access to advanced security and IT administration within IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments, as well as BlackBerry Professional Software for small businesses.
As yet there is no Australian RRP for the Bold. Expect to see it down under in Winter.
