Samsung releases Pebble range

By Damian Francis, 7/3/2008 11:09:32 AM

As reported some time back by gadget zone, Samsung has created the S2 Pebble MP3 player which is now available in the Australian market. What we didn’t catch on to was the fact that Samsung was creating a Pebble up-scaling DVD player or working on a tie-in with Foxtel.

Samsung’s S2 Pebble is a screenless MP3 player much like the iPod Shuffle, just slightly more round and in gadget zone’s humble opinion, a tad more stylish. The metallic coloured Pebble features multiple EQ settings, LED light effects and play modes as well as Samsung’s Digital Natural Sound Engine (DNSe) technology. It can playback MP3, OGG and WMA files and is available in black, red and purple. The best part is that it retails for just $49.

Complimenting the Pebble’s release is the F1080 Pebble DVD player. Small and shaped like anything but a conventional DVD player, the black affair offers 1080p up-scaling capabilities, AnyNet+ software, 14 bit video quality bundled with touch sensitive controls and high definition options. It’s meant to fit in with the modern lounge room, which is now, more than ever, sprouting unconventionally shaped tech. Available now you can pick up a Pebble DVD player for $199.

If this still isn’t enough Samsung love for you, they have also announced a Foxtel HD+ promotion. Consumers who purchase a Series 5 or 6 LCD TV have the opportunity to take up a special Foxtel HD+ offer. The offer includes full installation of the FOXTEL iQ2 set-top-unit and three months subscription to the FOXTEL HD+ service. Not interested in Foxtel? You will still come up trumps with a bonus BD1500 Blu-ray player. The offer will last throughout July.
