By Damian Francis, 11/7/2008 12:47:25

Where would we be without YouTube to while away the hours at work. gadget zone, the undisputed king of wasting time, has come up with the top 10 technology videos you can find on YouTube. Some are cool, some scary, some awesomely funny. Whatever the case, they will all keep you entertained for at least the next half hour. Enjoy.

10. Windows 95 launch video
This is where it all began, the operating system that cemented Microsoft as the King of operating systems. Check out one of the original commercials and be wowed by the wonder that is the Start button. It truly was a revolutionary thing back in those days. Ah, how simple and innocent we once were. Little did young Billy know there was an upstart by the name of Jobs who was about to introduce a thing called a Dock that would rock the calm waters of Windows.

9. The first iPod commercial
Welcome to retro wonderland. Could iPods really have looked like this once upon a time? The answer is yes, they did, and it’s no wonder it took them a few years to well and truly take off. While the skeleton for the popular product was there, it was big, weird looking and a tad too mechanical for the smoothness we have come to know and expect from Apple. Check it out, would you buy one based on this commercial?

8. Super Mario Brothers
You have to give these guys five stars for trying, five stars for effort, and, well, to be honest, three stars for execution. This video is a school play that created a live action version of the original Super Mario Brothers. The gentleman who plays Mario needs to eat a few more pizzas to really look the part, but the music is done brilliantly and the backdrops are pretty impressive. You’ll get a few laughs out of this.

7, 6, 5. The original human video games performance by Guillaume Reymond
We had to give these guys three spots in the top ten because, when you look at what they have done, you have to be in awe of how long it took to bring these performances to fruition. Including Tetris, Space Invaders and Atari, it’s pretty much a big hall with seats where people take the place of pixels. It looks exactly like the 80s versions of the real games did. They must have taken hours to make but the finished products were well worth it.
